ACADEMICS:
ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES
Each year roughly two-thirds of juniors and seniors take at least one - and often two or three - Advanced Placement courses. Requiring a high level of work, these courses help students master advanced material and prepare for the AP exams. Many colleges grant college credit for successful completion of an AP exam. Long Trail offers advanced and AP courses in English Literature and Composition (a three-year sequence: American Literature 1 and 2, and British Literature), Calculus, Statistics, U.S. History (a two-year sequence), Psychology, French, Spanish, and Studio Art.

Upper school students also have the option of choosing from a variety of electives, including creative writing, web page design and Latin American cultures.
