UPPER SCHOOLHigh academic standards motivate students "In sixth grade I was faced with the decision of where to go to school. Would I be going to a New York state school or putting in the extra effort to go to a Vermont school where I would get a better education? I know that I made the right decision. As I go to college, I carry with me so many memories that I will never forget. I am leaving with much more than an education." Mimi Roberts'03, Rupert, VT In the Upper School, we continue to stress connections among disciplines, by coordinating courses in different areas. Interested students may choose to concentrate in one of nine areas toward fulfilling graduation requirements. Completing at least five credits in their concentration, juniors and seniors do advanced work to help them explore a possible focus for college and future careers. We offer concentrations in business and entrepreneurship, engineering, global studies, humanities, mathematics, music, recreation organization and supervision, sciences, and visual and performing arts. |
