APPLICATION PROCESS

We welcome applications from students entering grades 6 through 12.

Family Tour

A member of the admissions team or an administrator will give you a tour of Long Trail, lasting about 45 minutes. This provides an opportunity to see our students and teachers in action and to ask any questions you might have. It also gives you a brief history and an insight into the philosophy of the school. The tour works best when parents drop the student off for the visit. Parents are always welcome to sit in on classes and meet with teachers.

Student Visit

Student visits are held on either a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday beginning on October 1. A student host welcomes you the morning of your visit and guides you through a Long Trail school day.

Admission Testing

LTS administers two tests to help us make decisions as we consider applications. Results are shared with parents.

Test of Academic Performance (TOAP) is given during the morning. It assesses achievement and takes about 45 minutes. Your host will escort you to the Maidi Miles Learning Center and pick you up afterwards.

Otis-Lenin School Ability Test (OLSAT) assesses innate ability and takes 45 minutes. We will notify you prior to the next OLSAT testing date and time.
