SPECIAL SERVICES

Long Trail is widely recognized for its success in educating students with learning differences. Our individualized instruction approach is successful for all students, both in Special Services and out.

The Maidi Miles Learning Center, staffed by learning specialists, offers individualized programs to assist students who need extra help in reading, mathematics, languages, test taking and other skills. With appropriate guidance, students receiving these services master strategies that enable them to do well, take advantage of all that Long Trail offers and go on to successful college and life careers.

If you have specific learning disabilities only, Long Trail is State Certified for you. A limited number of students participate in a practical and effective program of remediation based on individual needs.

Please notify the Admissions Office as early in the process as possible so we can ensure space in our special services program and can tailor our academics to meet your specific needs. Special services applications MUST include a complete set of current documentation including an IEP or 504, testing information and other documents that identify all particular needs.

Acceptance decisions are made from the Special Services applicant pool on the basis of program availability and suitability of services to the child.
