Long Trail School is widely recognized for its success in educating students with learning differences. Our learning center is staffed by certified special educators and offers individualized programs to assist students who need extra help in reading, mathematics, languages, test taking, and other skills. With appropriate guidance, students master strategies that enable them to succeed.

The Gerrit Kouwenhoven Memorial Library was dedicated in September of 2014 in recognition of Kouwenhoven’s background as a scholar, educator and lover of beautifully crafted writing. Gerrit Kouwenhoven had an incredible influence at Long Trail. He was a member of the LTS Board of Trustees from 1988-1998, served as the Board’s chair for 6 years, and rejoined the Board in 2008. Kouwenhoven was board chair for the 2012-13 school year prior to his death in 2013.

The new Fieldhouse features two basketball courts, a multi-purpose fitness center, a climbing wall, locker rooms, an atrium lobby, and offices. The facility allows LTS to host home basketball games and rock climbing competitions as well as expand its fitness and wellness offerings.
