Environmental Systems

Students will be provided with a coherent perspective on how the structure and function of environmental systems influences and is influenced by human economic, political and social systems. Global environmental concerns such as climate change and its international impact will be studied in depth. Students will develop a strong foundation that will enables them to adopt an informed personal response to the wide range of pressing environmental issues. The school greenhouse is an important component of this course as students maintain the vegetable beds; maintain and monitor the aquaponics system; and carry out a variety of experiments with food production.
