United States History

United States History

US History traces the origins and development of American political, economic, and social systems. The course is presented in a chronological and thematic approach. Students examine the emergence of the United States as a unique entity from its native and colonial roots through the end of the 20th century. This course will provide students with a strong factual and analytical experience with selected themes in early American history. Students will not only evaluate the historic forces that shaped the development of the United States from pre-Columbian societies continuing through the start of the 20th century, but also will analyze multiple interpretations of the past and develop new interpretations that address current trends in historiography.
