World Cultures and Geography

This course examines the earth’s physical topography and the human impact around the globe. The class is designed to provide students with an overview of culture, climate, land usage, vegetation and natural resources within the six populated continents and island regions. Learning and practicing the tools of geographers, students work together to investigate how humans interact with the land and with each other. Students use the content to understand and interpret current events as well as analyze possible solutions and plans for the future. Considerable time is spent engaged in interactive lessons and simulations designed to allow students to investigate the topics and make their own discoveries.
