Current Senior Class Information

WELCOME TO YOUR SENIOR YEAR!

LATEST SAT INFORMATION

As a national test center, we are open to all students.  We normally have 1-3 students from Arlington or neighboring NY towns like Salem.  For the 8/29 administration, 50% (over 20) of the students were from out of state and mostly from areas that would require a 14 day quarantine before testing.  I had no way of communicating these rules to the out of state testers and felt that I would need to turn away many of those testers (many of whom were coming from several  hours away). In explaining the situation in the state of Vermont, the College Board recommended that we cancel this administration.  For the safety of the student testers and proctors, we followed their advice this morning.  Like Burr and Burton and other test centers across the country, we canceled the 8/29 test.
Though many colleges and universities are no longer requiring these tests for admission this year, there are some students who still need or want to have a score.  We are adding a new feature called SAT School Day testing.  This will allow us to give the SAT to ONLY Long Trail students on two Wednesdays in the fall, September 23 and October 14.  Similarly, we are also hoping to add an ACT School Day testing on October 6.
I will have more details as we implement these options but I wanted to get the word out the 8/29 SAT at Long Trail is canceled.  The College Board should provide details on the next steps.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions,
Scott

BABY PHOTO NEEDED BY AUGUST 1

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO SEND IN A BABY PHOTO!  Now that school has been pushed to September 8 it gives us a bit more time to plan.

One of our Senior traditions is the opening “Who’s That Senior” game.  Students were sent an email back in June looking for various information, one of which was an interesting fact about them for the “Who’s That Senior” game.  To be included in the game is a baby photo of the senior – which is where you come in.  Please email ctifft@longtrailschool.org a baby/toddler photo.  The clearer the picture, the better. Make sure it is appropriate, and that your child will be okay with it being on display to the LTS community (possible online).  I am not sure how the game will work since we cannot do it in-person.

SENIOR PORTRAITS

Now is the time to start thinking about getting your senior portraits done.  Lifetouch will be photographing all of our students for the yearbook again this year, but seniors are welcome to submit a photo of their choice instead.

If anybody has any photographers they recommend, email ctifft@longtrailschool.org and I will post them here.
