HEAD COACH: Karen Rice
Karen Rice lives in Manchester with her husband Parker and son Pearson who is a 4th grader at Maple Street School. She played soccer, basketball and ran track throughout high school. Coach Karen has continued those sports throughout her life as she plays soccer 2-3 times a week, is an avid runner and has been an assistant varsity girls basketball coach for the past 5 years. Coach Karen’s goals for this season are simple: create a love for the sport, have fun, and finally, create a positive sports culture that pushes children to be kind to themselves as well as their teammates and competitors.

ASSISTANT COACH: Kara Custer
Kara Custer was a goalie growing up and  played in college during her undergraduate years. She has coached middle school soccer in Connecticut and New York City for 13 years. Coach Kara also coached a couple years of club soccer in Greenwich, CT. She is looking forward to getting to know the team this year as she navigates her way through Long Trail School as a new faculty member.

EQUIPMENT: LTS provides a home and an away jersey and shorts as well as one pair of socks. Players need to have their own cleats and shin guards.

TRANSPORTATION: LTS provides a bus to all games.  A return bus is provided unless it is a “local” game in Dorset or Manchester.  Players are welcome to ride home from games with their parents, but must let the coach know when they leave.  Middle School teams travel together which means the bus leaves at the conclusion of the later game.
