Anna’s students say she really knows her stuff and keeps them right on task so they can offer their best performance. Her calm deme(a)nor and soundness of focus is one that she shares with every student who passes through the theatre doors.
Anna believes the practice of theatre can be transformational, particularly during the middle- and high-school years. Teaching and directing at Long Trail has been the highlight of her teaching career. She previously taught at Williams College, Wesleyan University, Bennington College, and in the Prison Education Initiative at Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock, NY. Anna has two children: Elsa, an actor who is in the Experimental Theater Wing of the Tisch School of the Arts/New York University; and Tobias, an undergraduate studying medieval history at Brown University. Anna lives in Troy, NY, with Moonie, a very fat, fluffy cat.
