Education: BA, LaSalle University; Graduate Studies, Norwich University
Colleen has been teaching at Long Trail School since 1997. In Support Services, she helps students with unique learning needs achieve their full academic potential.
After 8 years of teaching in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Colleen applied for a job at Long Trail while on an extended vacation in Vermont running a friend’s bed and breakfast. Not only did she fall in love with the state she now calls home, but also Long Trail School. Colleen knew that she had found a school where every student’s success truly matters and is proud to be part of that goal.
As the Director of the Support Services Program, Colleen is honored to work with a talented, insightful team of learning specialists. Nothing is more fulfilling for her than teaching and advocating for students who learn differently.
Colleen and her husband Emmett live in Pawlet. Their daughter Nora attended Long Trail for grades 6 through 12 and graduated in 2008. Colleen is an avid Francophile and has studied French in Paris and at Middlebury’s École Française. In her spare time, you’ll catch Collleen reading and watching classic films. She also enjoys her daily afterschool walks through beautiful Dorset Hollow.
