I am the new School Counselor here at LTS for grades 6-12. I am so excited to be part of the Long Trail family; already it is so apparent how close-knit and welcoming the LTS community is. I grew up in White Plains, NY and lived in Norwalk, CT for the last four years. In my spare time, I enjoy vacationing in Cape Cod, surfing, spending time with family and friends, and getting lost in a great book.
My passion for school counseling began when I started working with students as a paraprofessional and behavior specialist. I found myself intrigued by each student’s story. I genuinely enjoyed learning about each student's life experiences, goals, dreams, and hardships. I received my Master’s in School Counseling from Mercy College, and completed a year-long internship at Norwalk High School.
As a school counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. I look forward to offering support to LTS students, staff, families, and community. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom counseling lessons, meeting with parents, and collaborating with teachers and staff.
When the term “counselor” is heard, some perceive that a counselor may only work with a select few students in a 1:1 counseling capacity, but that is not the case. School counseling programs reach and meet the needs of all students in a school through various ways. I am here to advocate for all students. If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am so excited to work with your children and get to know you throughout the school year!
