EMPTY BOWLS MAC ‘N’ CHEESE AND CHILI COOK-OFF NETS $500
On April 1, more than 150 people ate, voted and ate more at the Empty Bowls Mac ‘n’ Cheese & Chili Cook-Off at Long Trail School. Entries came from near and far, and were awarded in kid, teen, amateur and professional categories. The school was full of great smells and conversational buzz as community members greeted each other and shared comments over these comfort foods. This event will be run on the off-years of Empty Bowls in order to provide annual support for the Community Food Cupboard. Empty Bowls (with soup, bread and hand-crafted bowls) will be on March 25, 2017 and the next Mac ‘n’ Cheese & Chili Cook-off will be in the spring of 2018. This year’s event raised $500 for the Community Food Cupboard.
