Affording Long Trail

Domestic Tuition:

  • 2022-23 – $21,275
  • 2023-24 – $22,475

There are many options for families to fund their tuition including sending town tuition and financial aid. Over 60% of Long Trail students receive financial support.

Vermont School Choice

Families residing in towns that do not have a municipal middle or high school, a significant portion of tuition is paid for by the town. To learn how much your town may contribute to your child’s education, click here.

Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union Towns:

Tuition is paid to approved schools per District Policy on Tuition Payments for Secondary Students. All families must submit a Tuition Request form to The Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union annually in order for tuition to be paid.

Please fill out the Tuition Request form completely and return to the address, fax or email listed on the form. You may contact Celeste Keel at celeste.keel@brsu.org with any questions.

  • Tuition Request Form: For families residing in DANBY, DORSET, LANDGROVE, LONDONDERRY, MANCHESTER, MOUNT TABOR, PAWLET, PERU, RUPERT, SUNDERLAND, WESTON and WINHALL.
  • Declaration of Residency: If you are new to your town (or live in Winhall), please also fill out the Declaration of Residency form and return along with the tuition request form.

Dorset, VT Residents

In the spirit of community, Long Trail accepts the Dorset town tuition rate for grades 9-12 as full tuition payment. So, high schoolers residing in Dorset have the opportunity to attend with zero tuition owed after receipt of their sending town tuition.

Financial Aid

New and returning families that intend to apply for financial aid do so though School and Student Services (SSS). Once the application is complete and audited, the SSS calculator determines the amount a family can contribute to tuition.

Begin this process by creating a secure log-in account here.

Plan B: 50% tuition is due July 1; tuition balance due January 1.

Plan C: 10-month payment plan with first tuition payment due the 1st or 15th of the month starting in July.

All payment plans are administered through Veracross. Please note that there are additional fees for Plans B and C.
