Student Visits
A Student Visit is the first step in your Long Trail journey. The day of classes is your student’s chance to explore our campus, connect with students, get a feel for our academics, arts and athletic opportunities. On a regular LTS day, your child will soak in our distinct school culture.
Parents are encouraged to share in the visit day experience with their child. You can attend our all-school morning meeting, tour the campus with Director of Admission Katie Redding. Our wonderful team of professionals are eager to hear about what you seek in a school, and how we can fulfill your child’s dreams. We can’t wait to host your family on the day you explore Long Trail School.
The Long Trail Day
Your LTS visit begins by meeting your Student Host who will be your guide throughout the day. We make every effort to pair you with a host of similar age and interests. You will join them for advisory, the all school morning meeting, and then you will shadow your host through a full day of academic classes. This will give you a chance to meet teachers and students and get a sense of what it is like to be a Long Trail student. Lunch is provided for all visitors and hosts.

Parent Tours
It is customary for parents to attend our all-school morning meeting and tour with the Director on the morning of the full-day student visit. Parents can of course have a tour ahead of the student visit if that is preferred.
During Your Visit
Long Trail provides an atmosphere of courteous behavior. Faculty request that you, as our guest, conduct yourself in a respectful manner to both faculty and classmates. All visitors are encouraged to participate in class, however, if you wish just to observe, please be quiet so that the goals for class instruction can be met. We request that you remain with your host. If you know another student you would like to visit with during breaks or lunch, please invite him or her to join you and your host. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns prior to your visit. We will try our best to accommodate your interests and needs.
