LTS Welcomes New Trustees

Long Trail School Board Welcomes Two New Trustees

The Long Trail School Board of Trustees welcomed two new members at their meeting on September 8, 2015. Board Chair Tami Blanchard announces the addition of Julie Foster and Parker Rice as new trustees.

Dr. Foster has been a family physician at Castleton Family Health Clinic for 10 years. Foster and her husband, Dr. Matt Gammons, have two daughters. An active family, they can be found enjoying the pleasures of Vermont, such as skiing at Pico and playing golf at Rutland Country Club. Foster is happily rooted in the area.

Parker Rice is well known in the Manchester-Winhall area. Rice grew up locally and attended LTS from 1996-1999, leaving to complete high school at the Berkshire School. He and his wife Karen have an infant son. The Rices run the outdoor gear stores Equipe Sport and Mountain Riders. Rice represents the second generation of his family to sit on Long Trail’s board, as his mother Sue served on it and was its chair at one time.

Long Trail is grateful for the dedication of all of its Trustees, who give their valuable time and talents to supporting the school’s continued growth and success.
