Codex Academy, a 2D video game design camp for students in grades 4-8, returns to LTSummer in Dorset this July. “Codex Academy was a big hit last summer and I am excited to grow our technology offerings with the Web Programming option,” says LTSummer Director Chelley Tifft.

In Construct2, campers build anything from Pong to Angry Birds and then run it on a computer, phone or tablet. All game development will be done using Construct2, a powerful yet easy-to-use HTML5 toolkit for building two-dimensional (2D) games. Every camper receives a full 1-year license to continue developing using Construct2 after the camp ends.

Web Programming is for children who are serious about learning how to program websites. Campers will be introduced to HTML, JavaScript and CSS.  It will be lots of fun, but be prepared for new information and maybe even a little homework. No prior programming experience is necessary.

Each day will be filled with instruction, hands-on programming time and fun physical activities to maintain proper creative balance.
